General Nguyen Chi Thanh's real name is Nguyen Vinh, born on January 1, 1914 in Quang Dien, Hue . He joined the revolution at the age of 20. In 1948, the Central Committee decided to establish the Binh - Tri - Thien Sub-region to unify leadership. General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum is located at 81 Tan Nhue, Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi. This is a non-public museum, owned by the late general's family.
The museum was built based on the prototype of the house at 34 Ly Nam De, Hoan Kiem district, where his family lived from 1958 until 1986 when it was returned to the state. At this house, his family welcomed President Ho Chi Minh many times. Notably, the Politburo meeting took place here on August 6, 1964 to discuss the cause of national reunification.
