On the morning of the first day of 2026, the dried jackfruit factory of Ngay Thu Import-Export Co., Ltd. in Thoai Son commune was busier than usual. Trays of golden-yellow jackfruit, fresh from the oven, filled the factory with their fragrant aroma. Workers quickly sorted the dried jackfruit. Nguyen Van Nhut, a worker at the factory, shared: “I hope for steady work, a safe working environment, and a stable income to support my family. I hope for a raise and bonus for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.”

With nimble hands, processing catfish, Ms. Cao Ngoc Bich, a fish processing worker at Nam Viet Joint Stock Company in Long Xuyen ward, hopes the company will operate stably so that workers have long-term jobs, sufficient income to cover living expenses, and good conditions to raise their children. Ms. Bich hopes for a Lunar New Year bonus and a small gift to bring home for the holiday, to feel the care and support the company has for its employees. For many workers, stable and sustainable employment remains the greatest wish because behind each person are family, parents, young children, and other expenses.

Besides production workers, service sector employees also have their own concerns after the merger. Ms. Quach Tuong Vy, an employee of Viettel An Giang, residing in Rach Gia ward, said: “After the provincial merger, the company has reorganized and finalized personnel arrangements and operations are stable. I hope for a smoother year ahead with better work and higher income. I hope the company continues to organize training courses to improve professional skills and expertise.” For service sector workers, a professional working environment, good income, and opportunities for learning are long-term benefits.

Working in the real estate and construction sector, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of CIC Group Joint Stock Company, Rach Gia Ward, said that in the new year, what workers look forward to is still stable employment, a safe working environment, and an income that ensures a comfortable life for their families. Ms. Hanh shared: “In the new year, the grassroots trade union continues to prioritize the practical and comprehensive care for workers. The union strengthens activities to support the material and spiritual well-being of workers; promptly visits and encourages workers in difficult circumstances, contributing to building employee loyalty and trust in the company. At the same time, the union maintains an effective mechanism for regular dialogue, helping workers stay informed about the company's production and business situation, share difficulties, and work together with the company to overcome challenges during this period of significant change.”
