In the context of Vietnam promoting industrialization associated with green transformation, there is an urgent need to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency and ensure the living environment as well as industrial works.

The above information was given at the Vietnam Industry Exhibition - Cleanroom & High-tech Factory Exhibition - Refrigeration, air conditioning, air filtration, ventilation and dust filtration (Viet Industry - Cleanfact & RHVAC Vietnam 202) taking place on September 11.

Urgent need for energy saving

According to Dr. Nguyen Xuan Tien, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Science and Technology (VISRAE), the refrigeration and HVAC industry is facing urgent requirements for energy saving, emission reduction and climate change adaptation.

According to him, people spend most of their time (up to 80%) living and working in enclosed spaces, making it extremely important to ensure indoor air quality, including temperature and cleanliness. Therefore, authorities have issued strict regulations on indoor air quality to protect public health.

In addition, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Tien pointed out that in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and AI, data centers play the role of "backbone" for economic development. To date, the US has about 5,000 data centers, Japan has 500 centers and Vietnam is also strongly developing this field with national data centers. In particular, cooling and air conditioning systems are indispensable for the effective operation of these centers.

In addition, the refrigeration and air conditioning industry is a core element in realizing the concepts of "green homes" and "green cities." Specifically, this industry faces a major challenge in energy consumption, accounting for about 20-30% of total electricity consumption and significantly impacts climate change through the emission of ozone-depleting substances.

Accordingly, he called on businesses to continuously improve techniques and technology to save energy, minimize environmental impact, aim for zero net emissions by 2050 and turn State regulations into concrete actions.

Opportunities for regional supply chain formation

Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), emphasized the importance of connection platforms in the context of the Vietnamese economy promoting its industrial development strategy towards self-reliance, greening and increasing technology content.

Therefore, he believes that the exhibition “Viet Industry – Cleanfact & RHVAC Vietnam 2025” has a very practical meaning in helping businesses access new technology, find partners, expand markets, and contribute to improving the competitiveness of the industry.

With the presence of more than 300 domestic and foreign brands and a series of more than 10 in-depth seminars, VCCI leaders said that the event has become a space for dialogue, spreading knowledge and opening up cooperation opportunities. The participation of the international business community from Korea, China, Taiwan (China), Singapore, Thailand and Europe opens up opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to access modern technology and form regional and global supply chains.

Mr. Phong also particularly emphasized the significance of specialized forums on semiconductors, data infrastructure, sustainable supply chains, enhancing competitiveness and high-tech manufacturing, considering this a forum for direct dialogue between businesses - experts - policy-making agencies, helping to remove obstacles, propose solutions and jointly build a development roadmap associated with the national industrial strategy. He highly appreciated the diversity of industries at the exhibition, from clean room technology, air conditioning - ventilation - refrigeration to manufacturing, automation and semiconductors - the fundamental fields for Vietnam's industrial transformation.

“VCCI is committed to always accompanying businesses, not only by reflecting practical voices in the policy-making process, but also actively supporting trade promotion, international integration, training, legal advice and connecting business resources,” Mr. Phong said./.
