Vietnam wins first prize at Li-ning Vietnam International Badminton Series 2025

On the afternoon of October 26, at the Ninh Binh Provincial Multi-purpose Gymnasium, the final matches of the Li-ning Vietnam International Series 2025 Badminton Tournament took place.

Notably, in the match between former No. 1 Vietnamese female tennis player Vu Thi Trang defeated Malaysian tennis player OO Shan Zi in 3 exciting sets to win the women's singles championship of Vietnam International Series 2025.

In the first set, against the No. 2 seed OO Shan Zi, Vu Thi Trang easily won 15-7. In the second set, Vu Thi Trang let the Malaysian player come back to win 15-12. Entering the deciding set, the former No. 1 female tennis player of Vietnam took the lead and reached 8-6 to change sides. However, the determination of the opponent made it difficult for the home player when from 9-7, the score was balanced at 9-9. When the score was equalized at 15-15, Vu Thi Trang took advantage of her opponent's mistake and won 17-15.

At the end of the tournament, in the women's doubles event, two athletes Shinobu Hirata and Yuzuki Nakasima of Japan won the Gold Medal; athlete Jelang Fajar of Indonesia won the Gold Medal in the men's singles event; athlete Aquino Evano Keneddy Tangka and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja of Indonesia won the Gold Medal in the mixed doubles event.

In the women's singles event, athlete Vu Thi Trang of Vietnam won the Gold Medal; two athletes Weeraphat Phakjarung and Tanupat Viriyangkura of Thailand won the Gold Medal in the men's doubles event.

The Li-ning Vietnam International Series 2025 badminton tournament takes place from October 21-26 with nearly 300 professional athletes from 19 countries and territories, including: Australia, Canada, the US, Cook Islands, Germany, Indonesia, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, North Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, the UAE, Venezuela and the host team Vietnam.

After 6 days of exciting competition, the athletes played their best, bringing fans many dramatic and exciting matches with strong, technical attacks and defenses.
