The tournament will feature eight women’s teams from the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF), including the Philippines as the defending champion, four-time champion Thailand and three-time champion Vietnam. The tournament promises to bring exciting and dramatic competitions in Viet Tri and Hai Phong cities.
The group stage matches will be played in a round-robin format at Viet Tri and Lach Tray stadiums. In particular, Viet Tri stadium, which witnessed the triumphant journey of the Vietnamese team at the ASEAN Cup 2024, will be the venue for the two semi-finals, the third-place match and the final.
The official draw for the tournament will take place on June 9, with eight teams divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals and head to the final in August.

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of VFF, emphasized: "Vietnam hosting the ASEAN Women's Cup 2025 is an honor and a source of pride, reflecting the remarkable development of women's football not only in Vietnam but also throughout Southeast Asia. This opportunity is not only a recognition of our commitment to women's football, but also a responsibility that we carry out with all our heart."
The ASEAN Women's Cup is a tournament inherited from the AFF Women's Cup, which was launched in 2004. After 12 times of organization, the tournament has become the most prestigious playground in the region for women's teams, and is also a launching pad for many young talents.
In the most recent edition in 2022, the Philippines were crowned champions after a 3-0 victory over Thailand. Despite consecutive defeats in the last two finals, Thailand is still the most successful team with 4 championships.
Vietnam has won the championship three times, Myanmar twice, and Australia and U-23 Japan (guest team) have each won the championship once.
