Vietnam agrees on strategic cooperation with global partners

During his visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on the morning of October 30 (local time), within the framework of the Vietnam - UK High-Level Economic Conference, General Secretary To Lam witnessed the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation agreements between leading Vietnamese enterprises such as FPT, Vietnam Airlines, VNVC... and global partners.

The event took place on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam - UK Strategic Partnership, marking an important step in the journey to expand and affirm Vietnam's technology position on the global map.

In the presence of General Secretary To Lam, leaders of FPT and the world's leading football club Chelsea signed an agreement to elevate the cooperation relationship between the two sides. FPT officially became a Principal Partner of Chelsea FC, providing technology solutions to enhance the digital experience for fans, bringing fans around the world closer to the team.

Under the cooperation agreement with Chelsea, FPT will accompany in building a digital transformation roadmap covering aspects: Digital platform, customer interaction, business operations and new technologies. With the focus of cooperation towards promoting high-performance digital transformation, FPT's solutions are being widely applied to improve efficiency, expand operational scale and improve quality in almost every aspect of the team's operations.

During the official visit to the United Kingdom by General Secretary To Lam, the leaders of the two countries also issued a Joint Statement on upgrading the Vietnam-UK relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The Joint Statement outlined six main pillars of enhanced cooperation, including: Political , diplomatic, defense and security cooperation; Economic, trade, investment and financial cooperation; Science and technology cooperation, innovation, digital transformation, and healthcare; Cooperation on environment, energy, and green transformation; Cooperation on education, culture, sports, tourism, people-to-people exchange, equal rights, and other areas; Coordination on regional and international issues. FPT's cooperation in the technology sector with leading partners is one of the actions to implement the joint statement of the two countries.

Speaking at Oxford University about the vision for the framework of Vietnam-UK relations and the renovation and development orientation of Vietnam in the era of national development, General Secretary To Lam shared: "To go far, go fast, stably, sustainably and proactively, we cannot rely only on natural resources, cheap labor, or advantages in human resources... Vietnam has chosen a clear direction: Science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and knowledge economy will be the main growth drivers in the coming period".
