Vietnam accesses modern technology in water resources management

Advanced technologies, products and solutions in water resources management from 25 countries and territories will be displayed and introduced at the 14th International Exhibition and Conference on Water Supply and Sewerage Industry, Water Filtration Technology and Wastewater Treatment in Vietnam (VIETWATER 2023). This is an opportunity for Vietnam to access modern technology in water resources management.

VIETWATER 2023 Exhibition has an exhibition area of ​​up to 10,000m2, welcoming more than 450 exhibitors from more than 25 countries and territories, mainly from developed countries such as UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Turkey, Australia, Singapore, Korea, Japan, Taiwan... and many other countries. During the 3 days, the program is expected to attract more than 10,000 business buyers.

The event will display categories of technology for treatment, monitoring, management, water supply and drainage, wastewater, industrial and urban waste; sludge treatment technology; rainwater; ultra-pure water; bottled water production technology; desalination and dehydration; disinfection & biological pollution technology; natural treatment systems; non-revenue water (NRW); nutrient removal and recovery; particle removal; irrigation products; irrigation, drainage; membranes / filters; smart meters; pipes, water accessories; pumps and valves; water testing & measuring instruments; green technologies, water reuse, sustainable water technology; solid waste management technology and many other categories of products related to water and waste.

In addition to the exhibition space, VIETWATER 2023 also brings an International Conference program with a topic that is attracting a lot of attention from the domestic and international business community.

According to experts, irrigation in agriculture accounts for 70% of global water demand. As a country with rich agriculture, Vietnam's water resources used for agricultural purposes even account for more than 80% of total water output. Along with climate change and extreme weather phenomena such as floods, droughts, salinity, ... Vietnam's agriculture is facing many serious problems affecting productivity and food security.

Besides agriculture, industrial activities are one of the reasons for serious water pollution. Water pollution is becoming the biggest threat to the economy and human health. The impact of polluted water on people could reduce about 3.5% of Vietnam's GDP by 2035.

In Ho Chi Minh City alone, the amount of wastewater from urban activities is estimated to be up to 1,579,000 m3/day and night... Therefore, to move towards food security, ensure water resources in industry, daily life and urban areas, sustainable management and increasing technological innovations are considered the most effective keys.

The water industry market in Vietnam is currently undergoing a remarkable development period. The government has set out a plan to develop water supply systems for urban and industrial areas until 2025, with the goal of achieving 100% access to clean water in urban areas and a daily consumption of 120 liters/person. At the same time, the rate of access to safe clean water in rural areas will reach 75%. This not only creates a favorable environment for businesses to invest in the sector but also increases the demand for water for production purposes, contributing to the development of the water supply industry.
