On the afternoon of November 12, at a meeting with King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the first head-of-state visit between the two countries took place at a very important time, on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (1980-2025).
The two countries need to promote cooperation to respond to new challenges.
According to the General Secretary , Vietnam and Jordan have a lot of potential to further promote effective cooperation, not only for the benefit of the two peoples but also for the benefit of the ASEAN region and the Middle East.

At the meeting, King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein affirmed that he highly values this visit to Vietnam, and agreed with General Secretary To Lam's assessment of the importance of the current period for the development process of the two countries and two peoples.
The King hopes that the two sides will further strengthen political trust, expand cooperation in defense and security, share experiences and learn from each other in science and technology, and promote people-to-people exchange activities to further enhance understanding between the two peoples.
Regarding major orientations for bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Jordan in the coming time, the two leaders agreed that in the context of complicated developments in the world and region, Vietnam and Jordan need to promote cooperation to respond to new challenges.
The two leaders also agreed on a number of specific measures to be implemented in the coming time, such as politics - diplomacy, national defense - security, promoting and creating breakthroughs in economic, trade and investment cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, health and medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, energy, tourism, etc.
The two sides agreed to promote cooperation and mutual support at multilateral forums, especially the United Nations, ASEAN and regional organizations in the Middle East.
Effectively implement the substantive results of the visit
On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan.

To effectively implement the substantive results of the visit, the two leaders agreed that the two sides need to continue to strengthen political trust through increased contacts and exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones, and promote cooperation in defense and security, and improve the effectiveness of cooperation mechanisms between the two countries.
In the economic, trade and investment fields, the two sides agreed to promote cooperation on the basis of promoting the potential, strengths and development requirements of each country, including creating favorable conditions for each other's goods.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is ready to create favorable conditions for large Jordanian corporations in Vietnam and suggested that businesses of the two countries study the possibility of cooperation and joint investment, especially in the fields of infrastructure development, green economy, digital economy, telecommunications, production, agricultural processing, etc., promoting the connection of the startup and innovation ecosystems between the two countries.
Regarding agricultural cooperation, the Prime Minister emphasized that the two sides need to seek new cooperation models to improve efficiency and reduce production costs, such as implementing on-site export projects, saying that this is a model that Vietnam has successfully implemented in a number of countries.
The Prime Minister requested that ministries, sectors and businesses of both sides should soon discuss specifically about this cooperation direction. In addition, the Prime Minister also requested Jordan to increase support for Vietnam in developing the Halal industry.
The King of Jordan said the two countries can carry out joint cooperation projects as well as trilateral cooperation to improve project efficiency.
The two leaders also discussed measures to promote cooperation in the fields of education and training, people-to-people exchange, tourism, healthcare, and improving the legal framework.
Also this afternoon, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man proposed expanding cultural, educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges through student exchanges, scholarships, tourism and cultural activities so that the young generations of the two nations can understand and become closer.
The two leaders also agreed that the two countries' legislative bodies need to improve the effectiveness of parliamentary cooperation, considering this one of the important pillars in the overall bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Jordan.
On this occasion, through the King, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent his regards and reiterated the invitation to the leaders of Jordan's two houses to soon visit Vietnam at an appropriate time to deepen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
