Viettel is ready to turn off 2G and 3G waves.

One of the benefits of "turning off the 2G signal" is to promote 100% of people to use smartphones, thereby accessing diverse digital services, while creating a high-quality digital environment for the national digital transformation strategy in the 4.0 industrial revolution.

The transition to 4G also helps users access high-speed Internet, conveniently using online services in the fields ofeducation , healthcare, payment, entertainment, etc.

On January 25, Viettel Telecom Corporation (Viettel Telecom) announced that it has been implementing many preferential programs for 2G customers. Accordingly, by March 31, Viettel customers who successfully switch to 4G will be able to participate in the UPGRADE 4G - UPGRADE lucky draw program with prizes of 63 Honda Vision motorbikes, 567 Samsung Galaxy A05 phones, and millions of GB of data and calling minutes (total program value of more than 4.3 billion VND).

In particular, up to 50% subsidy for 4G-enabled phones, starting from only 290,000 VND/phone. For smartphone customers who successfully upgrade to 4G, they will receive an additional 28GB of high-speed data, free data when watching TV360 TV application.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Tinh, Deputy General Director of Viettel Telecom, to prepare for the above "wave shutdown" plan, the unit has pioneered 4G coverage to all rural, mountainous and island areas, and at the same time tested 5G broadcasting in many provinces/cities, ensuring no communication interruption when 2G and 3G technology is officially stopped.
