On May 15, the Dak Lak Departmentof Education and Training informed about the incidents involving many students at Cao Ba Quat High School who submitted applications to reserve their 12th grade study results.
Specifically, in the 2024-2025 school year, 16 12th grade students of Cao Ba Quat High School will be absent from school. Of these, 5 students have submitted applications to reserve their study results.
"The homeroom teacher advising students to write a request to reserve their study results and take a leave of absence is not in accordance with regulations," affirmed Mr. Do Tuong Hiep, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training.

At Cao Ba Quat High School, there was a situation where students who had reserved their academic results asked to return to school but the school did not agree. After the incident was reported by the press and the Department of Education and Training set up an inspection team, the school "invited" the students to return to school.
So far, 3 students who had reserved their results have returned to school.
According to the Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, there are many sources of public opinion that Cao Ba Quat High School has allowed students with poor academic performance to reserve their 12th grade study results in order to reduce the rate of failing the upcoming high school graduation exam, however, there is currently not enough evidence to confirm this.
"The Department is continuing to clarify and will properly handle the collective and individual responsibilities related to the incidents that occurred at Cao Ba Quat High School," Mr. Do Tuong Hiep stated.
As Dan Tri reported, this school year, Cao Ba Quat High School has a total of 16 12th grade students who have requested to leave school. Some of them have submitted applications to reserve their results, with confirmation from their homeroom teachers and principals.
A 12th grade female student said that after a discussion with her homeroom teacher and the principal, she submitted a request to stay. The principal also said that the female student: "Through the mid-term test, I saw that my math score was 4.8 and many subject teachers reported that I was a poor student, so I wouldn't pass the test."
A day after submitting the application, the girl's parents texted the teacher to ask to return to school and received a message: "No, the principal has approved it."
The parents went to see the principal but were not approved. Therefore, the girl's family reported the incident to the press.
