Incident of wrong score recording, candidate went from failing to passing: Urgently looking for a new school

On the morning of October 10, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung, Chief Inspector of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province, said that the Examination Council of Ngoc Lac High School had organized a review of the group and individuals who had made the mistake of entering the wrong exam scores of CTH candidates (examination room No. 6, Le Hong Phong High School Examination Council, Bim Son town).

According to Mr. Dung, this was an unfortunate incident during the 10th grade high school entrance exam, school year 2024-2025. Due to pressure and lack of concentration, the re-recording and score entry team made a mistake.

"After checking and discovering the problem, the Department of Education and Training Inspectorate met and suggested and guided the family to soon choose private schools or continuing education centers for the transfer candidates," said Mr. Dung.

Mr. Dung also said that during this time, parents of CTH candidates need to make a decision soon on choosing a school to enroll in.

"If the student misses the 45-day leave period, their results will be canceled and they will have no other choice," Mr. Dung informed.

Previously, as Dan Tri reported, after the end of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year, the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training received a petition reflecting that CTH candidate, exam room number 6, Le Hong Phong High School Examination Council (Bim Son town) had average academic performance, but the entrance exam score for 10th grade was unusually high.

Upon receiving the complaint, the Inspectorate of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training stepped in. The inspection showed that the candidates' test scores on the name board and score sheet were not consistent with the scores on the test paper.

Specifically, the scores on the board are: math 8, literature 8.5 and English 6.4. Meanwhile, the scores on the actual exam of the candidate are: math 4.5, literature 6.5 and English 2.4.

Thus, the total score of all 3 subjects on the candidate's score sheet is 9.5 points higher than the actual score recorded on the exam. After calculating the total score and re-examining, candidate CTH was not admitted to Le Hong Phong High School for the 2024-2025 school year.
