On November 12, the People's Committee of To Tung commune, Gia Lai province, said it was coordinating with the school to resolve information about teacher PTHB (born 2003, contract chemistry teacher at Anh Hung Nup High School, To Tung commune) using a ruler to hit a student.
Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Le Thanh Son, Chairman of To Tung Commune People's Committee, said that at first, parents were upset by the teacher's actions of using a ruler to repeatedly hit the student's hand. However, when they understood that Ms. B.'s purpose was to remind the student to study hard and do homework, the parents sympathized.

According to Mr. Son, Anh Hung Nup High School is located in a particularly difficult area, and the teaching staff is still lacking. When the incident occurred, the local authorities coordinated with the school to understand the thoughts and wishes of the parents to find a way to reconcile and help students stabilize their studies.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quan, the school’s principal, said that Ms. B. was a new teacher and therefore lacked teaching experience. The act of hitting the students with a ruler was also motivated by the desire to make them study harder, but was not in line with current educational methods.
According to the Principal of Anh Hung Nup High School, the school has sent a report to the authorities and coordinated with To Tung commune to work with parents to relieve frustration and reassure students. The school also arranged for another teacher to teach chemistry for grade 10, ensuring that learning is not affected.

“The act of hitting students with a ruler is wrong. There was a case where a student got a score of 9, but the teacher still reminded him in this way, showing immaturity in the educational method,” Mr. Quan said.
A parent expressed: “If the children do something wrong or do not study well, they need to be reminded and corrected in ways appropriate to the current educational environment. They are in 10th grade, so being beaten in front of the class can easily cause psychological damage. I hope the school takes corrective measures to prevent similar situations from happening.”
As Dan Tri reported, recently, parents have complained about teacher B. repeatedly using a ruler to hit students' hands during class.
According to the school's verification, the female teacher and the student had an agreement that if anyone did not do their homework, they would be hit on the hand. After receiving the feedback, the school held a meeting and decided to terminate the labor contract with Ms. B.
