Vu Quang promotes local potential and advantages to build ocop products

In recent times, Vu Quang district has exploited and promoted the potential and advantages of the locality to build many OCOP products. Thereby creating many jobs, increasing income for people, and at the same time promoting the development of local agriculture.

Realizing the advantages of agricultural resources in local agricultural production, in early 2023, Ms. Le Thi Thuy in Vu Quang town invested in machinery and factories to process grains such as rice, beans, peanuts, sesame into nutritious cereal powder and the product was recognized as meeting 3-star ocop standards by the end of 2023. What Ms. Thuy is most happy about is that the product used 70% of local ingredients.

The honey beekeeping model of Vu Quang people helps develop honey products that meet OCOP standards, contributing to increasing people's income.

With the advantage of hills and forests, people in Vu Quang district have soon developed the beekeeping profession for honey. To increase the value of products, many cooperatives and cooperative groups have built honey into ocop products, creating a brand in the market. Since then, the beekeeping profession in Vu Quang district has continuously developed. Currently, there are over 11,000 honeybee colonies in the district. In 2024, the honey farming and processing profession has brought in nearly 20 billion VND in revenue for households.

The process of processing finished honey and bottling it to supply to the market helps increase the value of local products.

Implementing the program: “One commune one product”, Vu Quang district has encouraged people to build ocop products based on locally available raw materials. Up to now, the district has had 20 valid ocop products, all of which use local raw materials.

Thanks to exploiting and promoting its potential and advantages, Vu Quang district has successfully built many prestigious and quality ocop products, affirming its position in the market. This is a solid foundation for this locality to continue expanding the raw material supply area for ocop product production facilities, promoting the development of agricultural economy .
