Attending the activities were Major General Tran Van Hau, Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 1. Also attending were leaders of local authorities, departments and branches.

The Command of Coast Guard Region 1 presented 50 gifts to fishermen, 50 buoys, 50 life jackets, and distributed 200 leaflets to fishermen at the Ky Ha Storm Shelter, Bac Ha residential group, Hai Ninh ward; presented 30 gifts to policy families and people in difficult circumstances in Vung Ang ward; presented 2 sets of computers to Ky Long Secondary School and Ky Thinh Secondary School; presented 30 gifts and 30 bicycles to students who have overcome difficulties to excel in their studies.

The contest “I love my homeland’s sea and islands” received enthusiastic responses from teachers and students of Ky Long Secondary School and Ky Thinh Secondary School. Participating in the contest, students learned about the following contents: State documents on sovereignty over seas and islands; Law on Vietnam Coast Guard; propaganda about the harmful effects of drugs, negative effects of school violence and how to prevent them; propaganda about homeland traditions...

These are meaningful and practical activities aimed at widely propagating to cadres, union members, youth and students in the area about Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty, contributing to building patriotism, love for the homeland's sea and islands; and enhancing citizens' responsibility for the cause of building and firmly protecting the country's sea and island sovereignty.

Through these activities, the sentiments and responsibilities of the Vietnam Coast Guard in general and the Coast Guard Region 1 Command in particular have been shown towards the people; contributing to building an increasingly solid national defense posture associated with the people's security posture in the area.
