75 years ago, on November 20, 1950, the 675th Mountain Artillery Regiment (now the 675th Artillery Brigade) - the first mountain artillery regiment of the Vietnam People's Army was officially established in Cao Bang . Since then, November 20 has become the Brigade's traditional day.
Immediately after its establishment, the officers and soldiers of the Regiment constantly promoted the revolutionary will to attack, both training and consolidating forces, participating in most major campaigns in the resistance war against French colonialism. The Regiment created many unique fighting methods, researched and developed the art of using artillery, the more it fought, the stronger it became, the more mature it became. With its glorious achievements in combat, the unit was awarded the noble title: "Brave Artillery Regiment" by President Ho Chi Minh .

The Regiment's exploits are associated with the names of the People's Armed Forces Heroes, and are shining examples for generations of officers and soldiers of the Regiment to follow. That is the image of hero Trinh The Xuong, who was seriously injured and lost both legs, but still fought until his last breath. The image of hero Bui Dinh Cu, in the rainy night, the dark sky, the unit could not see the target clearly, but cleverly crawled into the enemy's position, using flashlights to shine into each loophole for the artillery to fire. Hero Phung Van Khau with the spirit of "attacking alone, with one artillery piece" held his ground on hill E to support the infantry fighting the enemy...
Entering the resistance war against the US to save the country, the Regiment continued to be the "iron fist" of firepower, participating in large-scale campaigns, shaking the enemy's defense lines. The fierce artillery battles at Route 9-Khe Sanh, the Central Highlands and the climax of the series of bullets in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign contributed significantly to the Great Victory of Spring 1975. After the country's reunification, the unit was assigned a new mission: On December 30, 1975, the Ministry of National Defense issued Decision No. 243/QD-BQP to consolidate the 675th Artillery Regiment into the 675th Artillery Brigade.
Over 75 years, from the first mountain artillery regiment to a strategic brigade, the 675th Artillery Brigade has become a symbol of the heroic spirit and firepower of the Vietnam People's Army.
The establishment of the Artillery-Missile Command marked an important turning point, requiring subordinate units, including the 675th Artillery Brigade, to quickly adjust to meet the requirements of modernization. The Brigade has been actively consolidating its organization and staffing in the direction of being lean, compact, and strong, especially in receiving and mastering new equipment in addition to traditional artillery. The unit focuses on improving the quality of training, emphasizing the ability to coordinate operations, thereby ensuring that the Brigade truly becomes a comprehensive firepower unit, capable of rapid mobility, and timely and accurate firepower.
