Maintain security from the root, serve the people
In the 2020 - 2025 term, the Provincial Police Department has made strong changes, leaving many outstanding marks in the work of protecting security and order, affirming its core role in building a solid people's security posture, effectively serving the cause of socio-economic development. In particular, after the merger of the Police Departments of Gia Lai and Binh Dinh provinces, the organizational structure has been improved and streamlined, reducing more than 150 focal points, operating more and more effectively, and more closely connected with the grassroots and the people.

Major General Le Quang Nhan - Party Secretary, Director of the Provincial Police, emphasized: The unification of the police forces of the two provinces is not only an inevitable requirement in the arrangement of the organizational apparatus according to the Party's policy, but also an opportunity to reorganize the force close to the grassroots, enhancing the capacity to flexibly respond to situations arising from the locality. All for the goal of maintaining security from the root, serving the people.
During the 2020 - 2025 term, the provincial police have ensured absolute security and safety for more than 300 major political , cultural and social events taking place in the area; maintained political stability, not being passive or surprised in any situation. Crime prevention and control work has achieved many positive results: The rate of handling denunciations and reports of crimes reached 97.3%; serious cases were investigated and handled quickly and in accordance with the law, contributing to strengthening people's trust.
Identifying that “sticking to the grassroots is the key to success”, the provincial police have advised on the establishment, launch, and consolidation of the activities of 2,693 security and order assurance teams with 9,270 members, promoting the role of the “extended arm” of the commune and ward police. In addition, nearly 5,000 prestigious people among ethnic minorities have been propagandized, mobilized, and accompanied the police force in protecting the area, maintaining remote and border areas.
In 135 communes and wards after the merger, the grassroots police force has been strengthened, ensuring sufficient capacity to handle the increased workload in both volume and nature. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan An, Chief of Quy Nhon Dong Ward Police, shared: "Although the area is large and the population is large, thanks to reasonable arrangement and high sense of responsibility, each officer effectively takes on many tasks, has a firm grasp of the local situation, and promptly handles conflicts that arise from the beginning."
Along with that, the strong implementation of administrative reform, digital transformation, Project 06 and fire prevention, ensuring traffic safety... has brought practical results. Police forces at all levels regularly go to the locality, instructing on crime prevention skills, and escape in emergency situations. That proactiveness, closeness to the people, and service to the people has created a solid security posture from the root, recognized by the people, as Mr. Y Mlúi (Weh village, Bien Ho commune) said: "Police officers are now very close to the people, actively supporting the people in all tasks, so the people trust them a lot!".
Regular, modern, meeting new requirements
Entering the 2025-2030 term, with the spirit of innovation, determination and strategic vision, the Provincial Police Party Committee clearly defines its orientation and tasks with a more proactive, more disciplined and more modern spirit. The consistent goal is to maintain security from the grassroots, build a truly clean and strong Public Security force, closely attached to the people and meet the increasingly high requirements of the new situation.

One of the key tasks is to improve the quality of strategic forecasting, proactively grasp the situation, and avoid being passive or surprised in any situation. The provincial police will focus on reviewing and perfecting organizational models, improving the efficiency of basic professional work, thoroughly handling security and order risks from the early stages, and not allowing complications to arise and last.
In addition, the police force continues to strengthen the fight against non-traditional crimes, especially cybercrime, high-tech crimes, cross-border drugs, human trafficking and cyber security violations.
Major General Le Quang Nhan added: “The Provincial Police Party Committee clearly identified that in the new term, the requirements for the force are to be close to the grassroots, have deep expertise, be proficient in technology, and be closely connected to the people. In any situation that occurs in the area, the police must be the first force to be present, handle it in accordance with the law, in accordance with the people's wishes, and not be passive.”
In addition to professional work, administrative reform and digital transformation are identified as breakthroughs. The provincial police continue to promote the application of information technology in professional work, population management and serving the people; the resident data system is connected and synchronized, effectively supporting tracing, investigation, social control, etc.
Along with that, the movement of the entire people protecting national security continues to be promoted in depth, maintaining at least one effective self-management model, promoting the role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities and religious dignitaries to maintain stability right from the grassroots. Every year, reduce at least 5% of crimes against social order; the rate of case discovery reaches 80% or more, especially very serious and especially serious cases reaches over 95%; ensure absolute safety at detention facilities; complete digital transformation infrastructure throughout the force.
