The removal of Intel processors from the support list is surprising, as the list shows even recent processors, even if they meet the system requirements. This means that Microsoft no longer supports these parts on new computers, at least in theory.
Windows 11 24H2 drops a large number of Intel processors
Specifically, 10th generation processors such as Ice Lake U and Y (for mobile devices) along with Comet Lake (for desktop computers) have been removed from the list. Support for 8th and 9th generation processors (Coffee Lake) has also been discontinued.
Many new Intel processors added
In contrast, the new list has added the Core UL and HL Raptor Lake (series 1) processors along with “Core 3 100U with IPU” to the official support list. Notably, the Intel Atom embedded CPU has also been added to the support list.
To find out the details of the official Windows 11 24H2 support list, users can visit Microsoft's official website. If an Intel processor is on the 24H2 list, it will also be compatible with previous versions of Windows 11.
These changes may affect users using older generation processors, so it is important to check compatibility before upgrading your operating system.
