Bac Ha commune moved 388 people to safety

The Bac Ha Commune Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command said that from the afternoon and night of July 22, local forces had assisted in moving 388 people in dangerous areas at risk of landslides to safety.

Specifically, local forces have temporarily evacuated 76 households and 388 people in villages to safe locations (schools, cultural houses, etc.); placed warning signs, and sent forces to be on duty to warn people in areas and traffic routes at high risk of landslides.

On the morning of July 23, it was still raining in Bac Ha commune, so disaster prevention was still a top priority to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

388 people were evacuated to safety.

After implementing safety solutions for households, Bac Ha commune authorities continue to monitor and update developments of floods and dangerous weather through forecasts and warnings from hydrometeorological agencies, documents from superiors and increase propaganda to the people through mass media and loudspeaker systems in villages.

Based on weather conditions and actual inspections at the locations, if safety is ensured, 76 households temporarily staying at the gathering locations will be allowed to return home; at the same time, review and implement plans to ensure long-term safety for people and property.
