When seeing the traffic police checking for alcohol concentration, the drunk man drove the car in reverse at high speed and then crashed into the field.
On November 3, a representative of the Road and Railway Traffic Patrol and Control Guidance Department (Department 6, Traffic Police Department) said that the Traffic Police Department of Thai Nguyen Province Police coordinated with functional forces to investigate and resolve the case of a car driver avoiding alcohol concentration test and reversing the car into a field.
At about 8:46 p.m. on November 2, a working group of the Traffic Police Department of Thai Nguyen Province coordinated with Thanh Cong Commune Police to patrol, control and handle violations of alcohol concentration on DT274 Road (section through Thanh Cong Commune).
At this time, the working group discovered a car with license plate 20B-112.xx, traveling from Pho Yen ward to Thanh Cong commune. When about 100m away from the working group, the driver suddenly drove the car in reverse at high speed.

The task force realized that this behavior was dangerous for other road users, so they sent officers and soldiers to chase after it on foot. While the car was reversing, it fell into a field on the left side of the road (in the direction of the car). When the authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered that the driver was Mr. Duong VC (born in 1982, residing in Thai Nguyen province).
Through alcohol testing, driver Duong VC violated the level of 0.737 mg/L of breath. This is a very high violation level, 1.8 times higher than the "maximum" level prescribed in Decree 168.
Reporting to the traffic police, Mr. Duong VC said that he had drunk a lot of alcohol before driving the car.
The working group drew up an administrative violation report against driver Duong VC for driving with alcohol in his breath, and at the same time, temporarily detained the vehicle according to regulations.
A representative of the Traffic Police Department (Traffic Police Department) warned that driving a car in reverse at high speed is dangerous for other road users. If an accident occurs, the driver may be considered for criminal prosecution according to regulations.
