Song Kon commune suffered more than 2 billion VND in damage due to storm No. 10.

DNO - On the afternoon of September 29, Mr. Do Huu Tung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Song Kon Commune (Da Nang City) said that the initial estimated damage caused by storm No. 10 in the area was more than 2 billion VND.

According to Mr. Do Huu Tung, due to the impact of storm No. 10, Song Kon commune experienced prolonged heavy rain from the morning of September 27 to the afternoon of September 28, accompanied by strong winds, causing the water levels of the rivers to rise. The villages lost power in the early morning of September 28.

Authorities urgently evacuated 7 households/31 people in ARach village, which were threatened by landslides, to the village community house; and provided food and other necessities.

On the morning of September 29, the 7 households mentioned above returned home safely. Through on-site inspection, Song Kon commune has 2 households affected by landslides and is continuing to count the damaged crops, livestock, and production land.

Many roads passing through the area were damaged. The slope of the residential area along the road to ARach village was eroded. Irrigation and domestic water works were silted up at the main dam... Initial damage was estimated at more than 2 billion VND.

Mr. Tung said that the flooded roads have now been drained and traffic has returned to normal. For the landslide slope locations, the Commune People's Committee has directed the functional units to put up warning signs for people to travel safely. The broken power line at PaZih residential group (Ra E village) has been repaired by the Dong Giang Regional Power Management Team.

The locality also organized visits, encouragement and support for families that suffered heavy losses, especially poor households and policy families.
