Vu Quy Commune: Efforts to drain more than 90% of flooded rice fields after storm No. 3

Storm No. 3 flooded more than 90% of the winter-spring rice area of ​​Vu Quy commune, equivalent to more than 690 hectares.

Immediately after the rain and storm ended, Kien Xuong Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise proactively operated irrigation works, lowering the water level in the system to prevent flooding for rice and crops. Agricultural production and service cooperatives mobilized human resources and deployed field pumps to pump and drain water. Storm prevention and control work was carried out by the Commune People's Committee resolutely and seriously before the storm hit, contributing to reducing damage. By 10:00 a.m. on July 23, the commune's flooded rice area was about 60%. Currently, the commune continues to focus on means, equipment and human resources to drain the water as quickly as possible, limiting the impact on the growth and development of rice plants.
