In the early morning of November 7, heavy rains caused the Saigon River to rise, overflowing the embankment into houses in Tan An 2 neighborhood, Phu An ward. Also in the first days of November, continuous rain combined with high tides caused the embankment to overflow and flood many places in Phu An ward. Some places were flooded up to 0.5m, people had to raise their belongings to protect their property.

People have been proactive in responding to high tides. In addition, Phu An ward leaders have directed all response, prevention and recovery work, in the spirit of "racing with the tide".

In particular, the ward's forces such as militia, regular police, and grassroots security forces coordinated with the people to urgently reinforce the embankment, dredge drainage ditches, install drainage pumps, and prepare spare materials, ready to handle any arising situations to overcome the incident.
As a result, more than 1,900m of embankment was reinforced, more than 200m of degraded embankment was patched; at the same time, more than 100 households were supported to raise furniture, electrical equipment, tables and chairs and other items at flooded areas to limit damage caused by flooding. A dry road of about 200m in Ward 2, Tan An was also built by the people.

Meanwhile, in Ben Cat ward, in recent days, high tides combined with prolonged heavy rains have caused the water level on Thi Tinh river and inner-city canals to rise, and some low-lying areas of Ben Cat ward are at risk of deep flooding.
Faced with that situation, the People's Committee of Ben Cat Ward activated a plan to prevent and combat natural disasters according to the risk level, mobilizing the entire grassroots political system and the people. Thanks to that, the work of preventing, combating and responding to high tides and heavy rains has achieved positive results, preventing human casualties and minimizing property damage.
Traffic police of Ho Chi Minh City Police support peopleChanh Phu Hoa Ward also organized propaganda and notified people through many information channels such as Zalo groups, Facebook... to proactively raise assets, livestock, and vehicles when the tide rises. After the water recedes, the ward's functional forces continue to carry out environmental sanitation and disinfection work, ensuring hygiene and safety, and preventing the outbreak of epidemics.

In Chanh Hiep ward, especially in My Hao 1 neighborhood, which was heavily affected by the high tide at the end of October, the situation has also had positive changes.

In residential areas of Binh Hoa ward, functional forces, of which the core is the military force, together with the people, reinforced the embankment, raised furniture, electrical equipment, tables and chairs and other items.
