Jordan scored consecutive goals in extra time, turning the game around when they had an extra man. Striker Aymen Hussein went from being the hero who made it 2-1 to being the villain for Iraq when he received a second yellow card and was sent off after an excessive celebration in the 76th minute.

The first quarter-final match of the 2023 Asian Cup has been determined. Tajikistan will meet Jordan at 6:30 p.m. on February 2, Vietnam time.

Australia will face the winner of the match between Saudi Arabia and South Korea, while host Qatar will face the winner of the match between Uzbekistan and Thailand in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Asian Cup.
