Verifying information about 14-year-old girl who is 8 months pregnant and needs help

On August 31, many images and content were circulated on social networks, allegedly showing a 14-year-old girl who was 8 months pregnant and was staying at an acquaintance's house in Ward 5, Vinh Long City (Vinh Long Province).

The incident has caused a stir in local public opinion. Many people have asked the authorities to investigate and clarify the matter.

Speaking to the press, Mr. Nguyen The Anh, Chairman of Ward 5 People's Committee, Vinh Long City, said that he had received information on social networks. The local government has sent departments, unions, women's associations, and child protection agencies to investigate.

Mr. Nguyen The Anh said that the initial information posted online was correct. However, this girl lives in Hau Giang province and has just been staying at a relative's house in Vinh Long city for a few days. "We have coordinated with the police to continue verifying the incident to have a way to handle it," said Mr. Nguyen The Anh.

In a clip online, the girl identified herself as LNG (14 years old). The girl said her mother allowed her to live with a young man as husband and wife. Due to a conflict with her “boyfriend”, the girl rode her bicycle from Hau Giang to Vinh Long to live with an acquaintance.

A young man in Vinh Long was prosecuted by the police for having sex with a girl many times, causing her to become pregnant.
