Gasoline and fuel oil prices increased, while other oil products decreased by nearly 200 VND per liter.

From 3 p.m. on April 17, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline increased by VND378/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by VND416/liter and fuel oil increased by VND198/kg. In contrast, diesel oil decreased by VND164 and kerosene decreased by VND178/liter.

The prices of gasoline and fuel oil both increased from 3 p.m. today (April 17), while diesel and kerosene decreased slightly.

According to the joint dispatch of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 378 VND/liter, to 24,226 VND/liter. At the same time, RON95-III gasoline increased by 416 VND/liter, the new price is 25,237 VND/liter and fuel oil increased by 198 VND, to 17,206 VND/kg.

However, in this adjustment, diesel oil decreased by 164 VND to 21,446 VND/liter and kerosene decreased by 178 VND to 21,416 VND/liter.

Regarding the price stabilization fund (BOG), the joint ministries decided not to set aside and not to spend the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund on petroleum products.

A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,077 billion VND, an increase of 1 billion VND compared to the announcement period last week.

According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the time for managing petroleum prices will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, implemented every Thursday.

In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it is implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of the holiday, the time for managing the petrol price will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday coincides with the remaining holidays, the time for managing the petrol price will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday.

With the above regulation, the joint ministry decided that this Executive Session will be on Wednesday, instead of Thursday because it coincides with the Hung King's death anniversary holiday.

Most recently, on April 11, after setting aside the price stabilization fund, RON95-III gasoline increased by VND20 per liter; diesel increased by VND622 and kerosene increased by VND579. However, during this adjustment period, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND68 and fuel oil decreased by VND288./.
