In recent times, Thanh Son district has proactively transformed the crop structure appropriately, focusing on developing fruit trees with high economic value. Up to now, the district has implemented production area planning, implemented projects and plans to develop the crop industry, contributing to exploiting land potential, gradually increasing income value on the same cultivated area.

The Dien grapefruit growing model of Ms. Tran Thi Bich Lang's family in Vo Mieu commune, Thanh Son district brings in an income of nearly 150 million VND/year.

To create conditions for people to develop production, every year Tan Lap commune, Thanh Son district has mobilized people to improve rice fields and ineffective upland fields to grow fruit trees; creating conditions for farmers to participate in training courses on techniques for planting and caring for fruit trees. Thanks to that, people have conditions to focus on production, link, apply advanced science and technology, increase productivity, quality and economic efficiency.

According to Mr. Dinh Tien Thanh - Chairman of Tan Lap Commune People's Committee, the commune is mainly located on hilly land, with soil structure very suitable for yellow chalk banana trees. Currently, the whole commune has a total area of ​​47 hectares of yellow chalk banana trees, delicious banana products, beautiful finished banana designs. Up to now, yellow chalk banana trees are known by many people and the consumption market is increasingly expanding. The orientation of the district is to develop yellow chalk banana trees into typical products and build the brand "Thanh Son yellow chalk banana" towards 3-star OCOP products. In addition to growing Dien grapefruit and yellow chalk banana, people also invest in growing more fruit trees with economic value such as: oranges, guavas, apples, jackfruit... to increase income.

With the goal of developing sustainable fruit trees, the district encourages the conversion of low-hill land and ineffective mixed gardens to fruit trees; prioritizes the allocation of budget capital, integrates programs and projects, creates favorable conditions, and promotes the development of cultivation... The district focuses on strict management, control, roadmap development, and models of crop conversion with high economic efficiency, creating a basis for selecting crops suitable for local production practices and replicating effective models. Some large-scale fruit tree planting models have applied new farming techniques such as: High-density planting to make use of land, organic fertilizer application, and bagging to prevent pests and diseases...

Up to now, the district has initially formed concentrated fruit growing areas, applying high technology, with product consumption linkages. The total fruit growing area in the district is currently over 2,000 hectares. The total grapefruit area is 785 hectares, of which the area for products is estimated at over 582 hectares, the yield is estimated at 82.5 quintals/ha, the output is estimated at 4,803 tons. The total banana area is estimated at 640 hectares, of which the area of ​​yellow banana is over 84 hectares, mainly grown in the communes of Tan Minh, Tan Lap and Kha Cuu; the yield is 29 quintals/ha, the output is 18,560 tons; the rest are oranges, dragon fruit, apples... initially have a stable market. Increasing income from fruit trees has helped many households escape poverty, gradually stabilize their lives, and create conditions to become rich right in the locality, contributing to raising the average income to 41 million VND/person/year, and improving the appearance of the countryside.
