Vehicle inspection starts to increase

VietNamNetVietNamNet04/10/2023

In recent days, at some inspection centers, the demand for car inspection from people and businesses has begun to increase.

At the 29.03V Vehicle Inspection Center (Dong Da, Hanoi ), Mr. Tran Quoc Hoan, in charge of the center, said that people's demand for car inspection has increased gradually every month. If in July 2023, the center's productivity was only 39% compared to the same period last year, by August 2023 it reached 52% and by September 2023 it reached 73%.

This trend has also been recorded at some other inspection centers such as: Inspection Center 2903S (My Dinh, Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi), Inspection Center 29.08D (Hoai Duc, Hanoi).

On the afternoon of October 4, Mr. Tran Nguyen Sinh, in charge of Inspection Center 29.08D, informed that the number of vehicles coming for inspection at the center has increased by 10-20% compared to last month. However, only about 40-50% of the capacity of the 3 production lines here has been exploited.

The question is whether there will be a repeat of the traffic jam at the end of the year when many cars are automatically extended for new inspections in December. In addition, the need for inspections also increases near Tet.

Responding to this concern, Mr. Tran Quoc Hoan affirmed that the number of vehicles inspected will increase by the end of the year, but with the current capacity of the centers, it is difficult for the overload situation to reoccur.

At the 29.03V Vehicle Inspection Center, although people's demand has increased, 100 vehicles are inspected each day as at present, but it is only half of the maximum capacity that the station can perform (200 vehicles/day).

According to statistics from the Department of Motor Vehicle Inspection, Vietnam Register, the number of cars coming to inspection centers has increased. However, with 266/288 centers operating nationwide, the leader of the Department of Motor Vehicle Inspection believes that there will not be an overload situation like before.

Traffic jam only when there is a new "storm"

The leader of the Vietnam Register also said that currently, according to regulations, inspectors on leave are not allowed to participate in main inspections, leading to a shortage of operators for inspection lines. The actual number of lines in operation is much lower than the number of lines currently available at inspection units.

"The demand for vehicle inspection has increased again, but there is no overload like before. Unless there is a new "storm", the vehicle inspection force will have to serve a prison sentence," said the leader of the Vehicle Inspection Department.

This assessment is consistent with the reality at Center 29.03V. Mr. Hoan is concerned that if the number of inspectors is reduced, inspection overload may occur.

“Many of the inspectors in the group that were prosecuted are still working. The center currently has 10 inspectors, of which 6 are on bail. If they are brought to trial at the end of the year and have to serve their sentences, the center will be severely short of staff,” Mr. Hoan informed.

More than 666 thousand inspection appointments booked via the inspection app

Thanks to online inspection appointment scheduling, people save waiting time, making it easier for the inspection center to arrange human resources and equipment to serve effectively.

After more than 9 months of implementation, up to now, 640,093 users have registered accounts on the online registration appointment booking application of the Vietnam Register.

Of these, 666,060 inspection appointments have been booked by vehicle owners and transport businesses.

According to the Vietnam Register, online appointment scheduling has helped solve congestion at inspection stations in early 2023 and helped customers save time and effort in carrying out motor vehicle inspections.

The TTDK app management team said that after a period of operation, the team has recorded more than 20 common customer appointment booking errors. However, these errors have now been fixed. At the same time, the management team still maintains a group to answer questions and receive feedback from people through 2 communication channels Zalo or Facebook to promptly support people during the process of using the application.
