Bad habits when participating in traffic

Walking around big cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, it is not difficult to see images of technology motorbike taxi drivers and shippers violating traffic laws, such as: not wearing helmets, running red lights, encroaching on lanes, going the wrong way, speeding, riding on sidewalks...

More dangerously, many drivers are driving while looking at maps on their phones, causing distraction and potentially causing accidents for themselves and other road users. In fact, there have been many serious collisions and accidents caused by such behaviors.

Since Decree 168/2024/ND-CP with strong sanctions was implemented, the majority of people's awareness of traffic order and safety has been raised. However, many technology motorbike taxi drivers still ignore it, even using different ways to cover their license plates to avoid fines and avoid accessing images from surveillance cameras.

Restore order and traffic safety

Faced with the above situation, in order to restore traffic safety and raise awareness of law compliance among vehicle drivers, especially technology motorbike taxi drivers, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police has directed local teams to increase patrols and strictly handle violations.

According to reporters on the morning of June 4, the Traffic Police force simultaneously deployed to inspect and handle many key areas, such as: Pham Hung - Ton That Thuyet intersection; Khuat Duy Tien route; Do Muoi - Ngoc Hoi intersection; belt routes... Accordingly, focusing on violations such as running red lights, going in the wrong direction, not wearing helmets, driving on the sidewalk, carrying bulky goods and covering license plates.

According to statistics from the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police, in just one morning of inspection, the authorities have recorded more than 50 cases of technology motorbike taxi drivers violating traffic laws. The main violations include: running red lights, going the wrong way, encroaching on lanes, and especially common is driving motorbikes onto the sidewalk... When stopped for inspection, the violating drivers all used the excuse of being in a hurry or being urged by customers to deliberately drive onto the sidewalk.

Speaking to the press, Major Hoang Van Binh - Deputy Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 6 said that, in the face of the current situation of technology motorbike taxi drivers and shippers violating traffic laws, the Team focuses on propaganda and dissemination of laws directly to this group of drivers. Combined with continuous deployment to handle at all time frames from morning to night. However, it must also be recognized that the awareness of the majority of technology motorbike taxi drivers and shippers is very low, they calmly violate regardless of being handled by the Traffic Police.

It is known that in addition to the fines, the list of violations will also be sent to the parent companies of the technology motorbike taxi drivers to coordinate in propaganda, reminders, and corrections to ensure traffic safety and contribute to building a civilized urban image. In addition, the unit also sent notices requesting these car companies to block the application, even permanently block the accounts of drivers who repeatedly violate. However, the process of working with the parent company received very slow responses.

Therefore, many opinions say that technology motorbike taxi businesses need to clearly demonstrate their role and responsibility in managing and guiding their drivers in complying with traffic laws.
