On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam News Agency's Traditional Day (September 15, 1945 - September 15, 2025), implementing the direction of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of Vietnam News Agency, the News Agency Publishing House compiled and published the photo book "80 years of Vietnam News Agency (1945-2025)."
The bilingual publication in Vietnamese and English, compiled on the basis of the books "60 years of Vietnam News Agency (1945-2005)," "70 years of Vietnam News Agency (1945-2015)," "Heroic Liberation News Agency," is supplemented with many new images and documents exploited and selected from the archives of the Photo Editorial Board, the Center for Documentary Information and Graphics, and the Tradition Department of Vietnam News Agency.
The book consists of four parts: Vietnam News Agency in the struggle to protect national independence and unify the country (1945-1975); Vietnam News Agency in the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland; affirming the position of the national news agency, the main multimedia media agency (1976-2025); Foreign affairs activities; Vietnam News Agency Party Committee and socio-political organizations.
With short, concise articles and more than 670 photos and documents, the book reviews the process of formation, construction and development of Vietnam News Agency associated with the revolutionary cause of the nation, especially in the two resistance wars against foreign invaders, protecting and unifying the country (1945-1975), in the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland, innovation, international integration, bringing the country out of underdevelopment, rising to prosperity and happiness (1976-2025).
The photos, articles, and news stories that have gone through the years carry historical value, marking the dedication, loyalty, devotion, sacrifice, and contribution of the staff, reporters, editors, technicians, and employees of generations of news agencies so that the mainstream information of Vietnam News Agency is unceasing, especially contributing to building the industry into a national news agency and a key multimedia media agency.
The publication of the book on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam News Agency's tradition day shows gratitude to generations of cadres, reporters, editors, technical staff, and employees through the ages; war invalids, and families of martyrs who have contributed their efforts and blood to build the Vietnam News Agency to continuously grow as it is today.
On the afternoon of April 24, during a meeting and discussion program with the theme "Continuing the heroic epic," the book was presented to cadres, reporters, technicians and employees of the Vietnam News Agency who participated in the resistance wars to protect the Fatherland and performed international duties in Laos and Cambodia./.
