A waterspout is a phenomenon of strong, narrow-range winds that suck air from the water's surface up into cumulonimbus clouds, forming a moving funnel. They are often formed from electrically charged thunderstorm clouds, can swirl 10-16 km in diameter and travel hundreds of km. During the process of moving, a waterspout can drag and destroy many objects.
