Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, said that in October, fruit and vegetable export turnover reached 927 million USD, although it decreased sharply compared to September (1.313 billion USD), but was much higher than in October 2024 (519 million USD).
With the export results in October, in the first 10 months of 2025, fruit and vegetable exports reached 7.057 billion USD, an increase of 14.6% over the same period in 2024, and almost equal to the record fruit and vegetable exports achieved in the whole year of 2024 (7.12 billion USD).

With the export turnover of fruits and vegetables in the last months of the year still maintained at a very high level (from August until now always at over 900 million USD), Mr. Nguyen commented that the export of fruits and vegetables this year could reach the 8.5 billion USD mark.
Durian remains Vietnam’s main fruit and vegetable export. According to the Customs Department, durian exports reached $2.76 billion in the first nine months of this year. Based on that, Mr. Nguyen estimated that by the end of October, durian exports would have surpassed the record of $3.2 billion set in 2024.
Not only is there growth in general export turnover, Vietnamese fruits and vegetables are also increasing their market share in the Chinese market.
According to the Chinese Customs, the value of imported fruits and vegetables into the Chinese market in the first 9 months of 2025 reached 20.3 billion USD, an increase of 5.8% over the same period in 2024. Of which, imported fruits and vegetables from Vietnam accounted for 20%, an increase compared to 17.9% in the first 9 months of 2024.
This data shows that Vietnam is one of the most important markets for supplying fruits and vegetables to China. With the advantage of geographical location and fast delivery time, Vietnamese fruits and vegetables are highly competitive in terms of freshness and quality in this market.
