Low quality photos but high quality stories

On the evening of September 20, Pham Thanh Ngan, who had just graduated from the Graphic Design Department of the College of Radio and Television II, said she was very surprised when her grandfather, Tran Cong Hiep, suddenly became famous on social networks.

"That's a photo of my grandfather at my graduation ceremony. At that time, he raised his phone to try to take a photo. Even though there were many cameras and "high-end" phones around, he still wanted to take a photo of me with his own phone" - Ngan said happily.

Ngan said that on the day of the graduation ceremony, her grandfather, mother, aunt and younger brother attended. Her grandfather was meticulous, quiet but very emotional. Despite his old age, he still rode his motorbike for more than an hour from Thanh My Tay ward (old Binh Thanh district) to the school in Dong Hung Thuan ward (old District 12). He was eager to get to school early, even earlier than Ngan.

Relatives were arranged to watch via a projection screen, but the grandfather wanted to see his granddaughter with his own eyes, so he asked the organizers to let him attend in the main hall. Immediately, the grandfather and aunt were arranged to sit in the front row.

Showing off a photo of herself taken by her grandfather, Ngan smiled brightly and proudly said: "My grandfather is old, his hands are shaking, the photo is blurry, but that is the best photo I have."

Teaching through pictures

MSc. Ho Le Hoang Vu, Head of the Faculty of Communication Technology - College of Radio and Television II, said the graduation ceremony for 400 new graduates will be held on September 19. The school has arranged a photography and filming crew.

"Among thousands of photos, I was attracted by this wonderful moment of the old man. This photo was taken by a student of the school. The beautiful photo is not perfect in composition, light or color but brings the most emotions" - Mr. Vu shared.

The online community gave many compliments to the meaningful photo.

That is also the reason why the teacher decided to post this photo on the school's fanpage. He believes that in the hustle and bustle of life, technology is developing more and more rapidly, people easily forget the simple but priceless moments of everyday life.

"I hope this photo can spread and touch the emotions of many young people, especially students. Currently, the school is training in journalism and communications... so photography skills and thinking are very important." - Mr. Vu added.
