The delegation included leaders from many localities such as Da Nang , Quang Ninh, Son La, Dien Bien, and many people who are passionate about Vietnamese cinema. At the opening ceremony, Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan said that the delegation will also have important working sessions with a number of partners, Japanese film organizations, and the American Cinema Association during their working time.
Emphasizing that attending prestigious film festivals such as Tokyo or Busan is an opportunity for Vietnamese filmmakers to learn from experience in developing the film industry, Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan also affirmed that VFDA will continue to be a bridge between filmmakers, international organizations and localities, aiming to attract production, improve the filmmaking environment and build a friendly, dynamic, culturally rich Vietnamese film brand.

The series of activities of Vietnam implemented at TIFF demonstrates the joint efforts in connecting cinema with tourism and creative economy , showing the strategic vision of VFDA and localities in bringing the image of Vietnam to the world through cinema and vice versa, attracting film crews to Vietnam, especially in the context that this industry is becoming a new driving force of cultural growth.
At this year’s Film Festival, director Bui Thac Chuyen’s film “Tunnels: Sun in the Dark” was selected to be screened in the World Focus category, marking the film’s first international premiere. Director Bui Thac Chuyen, actress Ho Thu Anh, and Diem Hang Lamoon appeared on the red carpet at the opening ceremony.

Also during the visit, VFDA will organize a booth introducing Vietnamese cinema at TIFFCOM Fair. The important highlights of the delegation are the seminar “Vietnam on screen: Regional voice, global reach” and the Vietnam Night program, where international filmmakers have the opportunity to learn more about the cinema environment and filmmaking opportunities in Vietnam.
Within the framework of the event, VFDA also introduced the 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) - scheduled to take place from June 28 to July 4, 2026, along with the film categories, especially the DANAFF Talents initiative: A region to discover and nurture young film talents for the Asian region. At DANAFF Talents 2025, the first Film Project Market was held, bringing together many teaching experts and awards from prestigious film funds from France (CNC) and the US (MPA). In addition, the acting workshop "Nurturing Talents", with the teaching of experts from Japan and Korea, has become a successful launching pad for many outstanding young actors of Vietnamese cinema.
