Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang emphasized that, with the characteristic of being a place that attracts many tourists, Hoi An's top priority is to ensure absolute safety for residents and tourists .

The City Party Secretary requested that we absolutely must not be negligent or subjective, and must always put the safety of life and property first.

Local authorities need to proactively evacuate tourists to safety before water levels rise, instruct people on how to respond, and not be subjective in any situation.

At the meeting, the leader of Hoi An Tay ward said that the flooded area has an area of about 4km², with more than 9,000 people affected, the deepest place is flooded up to 3.5m. The locality has deployed to evacuate people from low-lying areas to high-lying areas, especially households with the elderly and children; at the same time, mobilized forces to support the transportation of goods and essential food for people.

The City Party Secretary noted that in the context of complicated floods, the authorities must maintain regular contact, ensuring timely support for residents and tourists, especially in isolated areas. Medical work must be focused on, with increased human resources and medicine, and readiness for first aid and handling of epidemics arising after the floods.

Floods in the wards of Hoi An Tay, Hoi An Dong and Hoi An... are still complicated.

The City Party Secretary praised the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the police, military and functional units who quickly arrived at hot spots to assist people in evacuating, rescuing and saving lives. At the same time, he requested that the forces always be at the highest state of readiness, arranging human resources and vehicles at key locations to promptly handle bad situations.

At Tan Thanh and An Bang beach areas (Hoi An Tay ward) - which has just suffered heavy landslides due to storm No. 12, the City Party Secretary acknowledged the effectiveness of some sections of the breakwater, but said that the landslides are still very serious and at risk of spreading; requested that functional units soon have a comprehensive plan, mobilize resources to invest in solid embankments to protect residential areas and coastal infrastructure.
