To celebrate the 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak in Ho Chi Minh City, the Central Cultural Committee (under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha) organized a Buddhist Cultural Festival at Lang Le Cultural Park (Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City).
Attractive cultural activities at Vesak 2025
The festival displays 285 booths with Buddhist publications, traditional Vietnamese products and services to meet the sightseeing and enjoyment needs of Buddhists and people from all over the country attending the series of events within the framework of the United Nations Vesak 2025 , especially people coming to worship Buddha's relics at Thanh Tam Pagoda.
We want to bring purely Vietnamese cultural activities so that international friends can understand the cultural values of Vietnam, the people who love peace and friendship.

The Central Cultural Committee also organized a ceremony to raise the world's largest Buddhist flag measuring 500 square meters , released hot air balloons before the opening ceremony, and organized an exhibition of ancient books and 87 national treasures of Vietnamese Buddhism;
Organize art performances with the participation of art troupes from China, India, Thailand, Korea, Mongolia... and Vietnam.
On the evening of May 6, there will be a candle lighting ceremony to pray for peace and a lantern festival to pray for national peace and prosperity with about 12,000 participants, lighting 35,000 lanterns.

At Lang Le Park, the organizers also arranged an exhibition space for traditional craft villages of Binh Chanh district such as Binh Loi yellow apricot craft village and Le Minh Xuan incense cart craft village. An interesting thing is that the artisans have processed the yellow apricot blossoms to bloom out of season at this time to celebrate the Great Buddha's Birthday Vesak .
Ensure security
To ensure security and order, the organizing committee set up a security control center at the ceremony area with security forces from authorities, the security department of the Buddhist Sangha and volunteers.
Most Venerable Thich Phuoc Nguyen - Deputy General Secretary and Chief of Office 2 of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Vesak Security Committee - shared with Tuoi Tre Online :
"May 3 was the first day people came to worship Buddha's relics. We did not anticipate the large number of people coming. People jostled each other, causing the fence to fall, creating a commotion, but it was quickly resolved.
Three people fainted due to heatstroke and were given first aid and sent home. Currently, security is guaranteed, serving well the people coming to worship Buddha's relics."
The 2025 United Nations Vesak Day celebration opened on the morning of May 6, with more than 2,700 delegates attending, including 1,300 international delegates from 85 countries and territories around the world.
