16 teams compete in the 4th Journalists and Public Opinion Cup Football Tournament in 2025

Towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) and welcoming the National Press Festival 2025, on the morning of May 27 in Hanoi, the Journalist and Public Opinion Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Journalists Association held a drawing ceremony for the 4th Journalist and Public Opinion Cup Football Tournament in 2025.

The tournament will officially take place on June 13-14, 2025 at Viettel Sports Center, Hoa Lac, Thach That, Hanoi.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Vu Duc Dien, Member of the Editorial Board, Deputy Secretary General of the Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper, representative of the Organizing Committee, said that the tournament is a meaningful traditional sports playground for the press, a place to connect journalists in an exciting, united and professional atmosphere.

Not only is it an opportunity to exercise and demonstrate team spirit, the Journalists & Public Opinion Cup is also a symbolic activity – where journalists “burn” themselves out on the field as well as on the information front. Through the round ball, the spirit of dedication, honesty and humanity – the core values ​​of journalism – are once again vividly honored.

This year's tournament brings together 16 teams from prestigious press and media agencies and a number of typical businesses: Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper, People's Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Labor Newspaper , VNExpress Newspaper, People's Army Newspaper, Dan Tri Newspaper, Today's Rural Newspaper/Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper, Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, Vietnam Law Newspaper, Construction Newspaper, Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, Life and Law Magazine and Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group.

Competition format: Knockout (if tied after 2 rounds, there will be a penalty shootout to choose the winning team to continue)

Semi-finals: (4 teams passing the quarter-finals will compete in the semi-finals):

Final and 3rd place match: The two winning teams of the semi-finals will meet in the Final, the two losing teams of the semi-finals will meet in the 3rd place match.

Game time

Each match has 2 halves, each half is 25 minutes long and there is a 10 minute break between halves. Extra time depends on each match and the decision of the Referee.

Number of players in play - team composition in the playing area

The number of players on each team is 7 (including the goalkeeper). At the time of the match, if the number of legal players on a team is less than 5, that team will be considered to have lost 0-3. If there are 5 or more players, the match will continue. During the match, the team lacking players has the right to add players to make up to 7 (excluding the case of being sent off the field).

Each team may only bring the following people into the competition area:

7 official players have changed player clothes.

Maximum 2 team leaders and 1 logistics.

All fans will go to the stands to sit, players who receive 2 yellow cards or 1 red card must also immediately go to the stands.

Prize structure

First prize: 20,000,000 VND + flag + cup, medal.

Second prize: 15,000,000 VND + flag, medal.

Third prize: 10,000,000 VND + flag, medal.

Fair play prize: 3,000,000 VND (prize for 1 of 4 teams entering the semi-finals).

Best goalkeeper: 2,000,000 VND.

Top scorer: 2,000,000 VND.

Best player: 2,000,000 VND.
