On March 31, Dien Ban Town Medical Center - Quang Nam Province said it had collected food samples that the students used and were poisoned to send to Nha Trang Pasteur Institute for testing and determining the cause.
The students' health is now stable.
Previously, at around 3:30 p.m. on March 30, a teacher at Tran Hung Dao Primary School (Dien Phong Commune, Dien Ban Town) discovered that NNNT (a 5C student) had symptoms of headache, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Later, 17 other students in the same class had similar symptoms, so the school took these 18 students to the Dien Ban Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment.
According to the teachers, 18 students had the above symptoms after consuming milk tea and fruit shakes for about 15 minutes. The milk tea originated from a facility in the Nam Phuoc market area (Duy Xuyen district); the fruit shakes were bought by teachers at the school and then processed at home to bring to the students to celebrate the camp festival. A total of 34 students consumed the food, 16 of whom had no symptoms.
According to the leader of Quang Nam Regional General Hospital, the health of 18 students with food poisoning has stabilized, and today the unit will allow healthy students to go home.
