3 workers injured and killed while constructing Quy Nhon – Chi Thanh expressway

On the afternoon of August 11, the leader of Tuy An Bac Commune People's Committee, Dak Lak Province confirmed that a labor accident had just occurred at the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh Expressway project, passing through Tuy An Bac Commune, killing 2 workers and injuring 1 person.

Scene of the incident

Initial information shows that the victims were all workers at the construction site. Currently, authorities and representatives of the investor are present at the scene to investigate and clarify the cause. The identities of the victims have not been released.

Mr. Bui Trong Lai, Executive Director of the Quy Nhon – Chi Thanh Expressway Project (Project Management Board 85), said that the unit is urgently coordinating to handle the incident.

The Quy Nhon – Chi Thanh Expressway Project has a total length of 61.7km (excluding the 5.1km Cu Mong tunnel), passing through Gia Lai province for 19.6km and Dak Lak province for more than 42km. The total investment is more than 14,800 billion VND, with Project Management Board 85 as the investor, starting construction in early 2023, expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
