Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc surveyed the implementation of the project to renovate and upgrade provincial road 961.
Provincial Road 961 is 22.2km long; the starting point is Giai Phong 9 ferry, the end point is Xa Dieu bridge (adjacent to Provincial Road 960), the scale of exploitation is grade V road, the road surface is 5.5m wide, the structure is asphalted gravel. The whole route has 25 reinforced concrete bridges with a total length of nearly 885m, load capacity from 10 - 13 tons.
Currently, the road surface is partially damaged, so it is necessary to repair it, combine it with reinforcing the roadside and completing the traffic safety system according to standard 41:2024/BGTVT, to meet the needs of ensuring safety and smooth traffic for people and vehicles participating in traffic; at the same time, meet the requirements of traffic development in the area.
Starting point of Provincial Road 961.
The project to renovate and upgrade provincial road 961, from Giai Phong 9 ferry terminal to Ngo Si Lien Practical High School, includes repairing the road section, with a total length of 4,140m. In addition, on the existing 5.5m wide road surface, road surface maintenance and sidewalk reinforcement (1m on each side) will be carried out.
The project also includes a traffic safety system: Road centerline paint, signs according to National Technical Regulation on road signs QCVN 41:2024/BGTVT.
The total approved investment is nearly 19.64 billion VND, with the An Giang Department of Construction as the investor, Tay Ninh Construction Investment Joint Stock Company as the construction, CIC Kien Giang Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company as the design, and Hung Thinh Urban Infrastructure Consulting and Construction Company Limited as the supervision. The contract implementation period is 120 days from the date of handover of the site.
During the survey, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc requested the Department of Construction to immediately fix the damaged road surface. At the same time, focus on implementing the project so that it can be completed and put into use soon.
