- From village roads to border routes, the street lighting projects over the years have been creating remarkable changes in people's lives. Each project is the crystallization of solidarity, the joint efforts of the community, the companionship of businesses, mass organizations and local authorities. More preciously, the projects have contributed to creating a new, vibrant look for the province's countryside.
Built from 2022 to present, the "Lighting up the village road" project, about 1 km long in Don Chang village, Thuy Hung commune (Thanh Long commune, old Van Lang district), is respected and preserved by the people as part of the common property.
Ms. Hoang Thi Min, a villager, shared: Previously, although the main road was concreted, it was still dark at night. Since the lights came on, people have found it easier to travel, especially in the early morning and evening. Traffic order and safety are also guaranteed. We always remind each other to maintain the project so that it can last a long time.
Also from the proactive and self-conscious spirit of the people, each completed project is considered by the people as their "common child", together maintaining and repairing when needed.

In recent years, "Lighting up the village roads" projects have been built more and more in villages and hamlets in the province. The core is the "Lighting up the village roads" program maintained by the Youth Union at all levels since 2014.
Mr. Doan Thanh Cong, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union, Head of the Youth Union and Children's Affairs Department - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province said: Promoting the vanguard role of the youth union members, the youth union organizations have proposed, supported and acted as a bridge to mobilize social resources to build "Lighting up the village roads" projects. These projects are often integrated into youth volunteer campaigns, spreading widely among the youth union chapters and becoming the mark of the youth in the province. To ensure the meaningfulness of the projects, we thoroughly instruct the youth union bases to carry out the projects "in the right place", ensuring quality, transparency, and creating a good impression on the local people.
From 2024 to now, the Youth Union at all levels has mobilized and supported the construction of nearly 70 "Lighting up village roads" projects with a total value of about 3.5 billion VND. The good news is that the movement does not stop at the Youth Union but also spread widely to socio- political organizations, businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside the province.
Mr. Mai Van Do, Deputy Director of Tuan Dat Sports Company Limited, Dong Kinh Ward, said: Although it was only established at the end of 2024, our company is very interested in and has participated in many volunteer activities and support for the community. Recently, we have accompanied and supported the construction of the "Lighting up the village road" project in Pan Pe village, Khuat Xa commune. Seeing the practical significance of the model, in the coming time, we will continue to support to contribute to bringing light to more villages.

With the cooperation of all levels, sectors, organizations and units, people in many places also voluntarily contributed funds and working days to join hands to complete the project. From the consensus of the whole society, the "Lighting up the village roads" projects have become a highlight in the new rural construction in the province.
If in the early years, the project mainly installed simple poles and light bulbs, now many places have boldly applied solar lights to save costs, easy maintenance, and suitable for mountainous terrain. On many roads, the national flag and the Party flag are also hung on lampposts, creating brilliant flag lines, increasing aesthetics and creating cultural highlights, arousing people's pride and sense of responsibility for the common project.
Not only stopping at the roads in the village, the movement has also been expanded to the border, patrol roads, forming the model of "Lighting up the border", "Lighting up the patrol road" implemented by the border force in coordination with organizations at the base. Lighting not only serves the people but also supports the functional forces in managing the area, ensuring order and safety in the border area.
To continue mobilizing social resources, many communes in the province have proactively issued open letters, calling on organizations and individuals to join hands in building lighting projects. Local authorities have identified this as not only building lighting projects, but also a way to create a driving force to connect the community, promoting the participation of the whole society in new rural construction movements.
Although there are no complete statistics, it is estimated that the whole province currently has about 400 road lighting projects built from socialized resources with a budget of tens of billions of VND. Each project is a clear demonstration of the solidarity, trust and responsibility of the community. The light from the country roads has been lighting up the spirit of solidarity, lighting up the journey of building a safe, civilized and developed new countryside.
