- On the afternoon of November 17, the working group of the Ministry of Education and Training surveyed the work of eliminating illiteracy in Ba Son commune. Attending were representatives of leaders and professional staff of the Department of Education and Training; leaders of the People's Committee of Ba Son commune and representatives of schools. learn, villages in the area.

According to the report of the Commune People's Committee, Ba Son is a mountainous border commune with a large area and a scattered population, over 92% of whom are ethnic minorities, so mobilizing people to participate in learning is still difficult. In recent times, the commune has paid attention to directing the work of universalizing education and eliminating illiteracy and achieved positive results.
In 2025, Ba Son commune will continue to achieve level 2 literacy standards. The rate of people with level 1 literacy in the age group of 15-60 years old will reach 99.30%; the rate of level 2 literacy will reach 92.76%. The commune People's Committee has directed primary schools to open literacy classes, arranging flexible schedules in the evening or on weekends to suit the working conditions of the people; the mobilization groups organized 20 propaganda sessions with more than 1,400 participants; the classes are divided into groups according to level, and at the same time, integrate artistic activities and educational videos to attract students and maintain attendance.

At the survey, delegates discussed and clarified the content of the direction and coordination mechanism at the grassroots level; ways to mobilize learners and organize literacy classes in villages and hamlets; maintaining attendance and preventing re-illiteracy associated with the activities of community learning centers; teaching methods and forms suitable for the elderly in ethnic minority areas; conditions of facilities, documents, teaching equipment; and the application of information technology and digital transformation in implementing literacy work at the local level.

Speaking at the survey, the representative of the Working Group of the Ministry of Education and Training acknowledged the initiative of the commune in organizing the implementation of illiteracy eradication work, especially the efforts to mobilize learners and maintain the number of students. Through the survey, the delegation aims to assess the current situation in an objective and comprehensive manner; identify effective models, difficulties and obstacles at the grassroots level. Based on the collected data, the delegation will synthesize for research purposes, propose solutions suitable to the characteristics of ethnic minority areas, contributing to perfecting the mechanism, policies and orientation for implementing illiteracy eradication work in the next phase.
