
This information was confirmed by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong after the People's Committee of Binh Duong province approved the procedures for refunding the excess fees collected for practical training credits to students at Thu Dau Mot University.
Previously, the school had paid 37 billion VND, representing illegally collected fees from the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years, into the state budget.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, the large number of students, approximately 20,000, presents some challenges in the review and verification process. However, with the spirit of ensuring students' rights, the school is striving to complete this process as soon as possible. The refund will be transparent and public. The school will use its reserve funds to cover the costs of this payment.
Regarding Thu Dau Mot University, recently, through an inspection conducted from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023, the Department of Internal Affairs of Binh Duong province discovered many shortcomings and deficiencies of the university.
Specifically, regarding organizational structure, the school committed violations in the establishment and dissolution of units, failing to comply with regulations on authority. Regarding personnel management, the school made mistakes in attracting, compensating, and managing employment contracts for staff. In particular, the recovery of training funds for those attending under Project 911 and those sent by the school for training was also not in accordance with regulations.
The Chief Inspector of the Department of Internal Affairs of Binh Duong province requested Thu Dau Mot University to conduct a review and clarify the responsibilities of individuals and organizations involved in allowing the aforementioned shortcomings and limitations to occur...
