Business households struggle with tax declaration and invoice issuance
At Tan Dinh market ( Ho Chi Minh City ) , many traders said that despite their efforts to get used to it, the transition to self-declaration of taxes is still difficult.

From January 1, 2026, Vietnam officially abolished lump-sum tax for business households and replaced it with a self-declaration mechanism.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thoa - a trader at Tan Dinh market shared: "We have practiced following each step, but we still do not fully understand the declaration and issuance of valid invoices. I hope the tax authorities and software companies will support us more enthusiastically to comply with the law."
Mr. Nguyen Van Loc - another business owner, worried: "Issuing invoices requires a barcode scanner, investing in expensive equipment. I hope the government will have a support policy to reduce costs."

The purpose is to contribute to establishing an equal business environment, promoting administrative reform - digital transformation.
Meanwhile, Ms. Doan Thi My Chi said that small traders in the market cannot both sell and issue invoices like a company: "If we hire an accountant, the cost will be high. We hope to receive long-term guidance and the simplest software to use."
Tax industry and technology enterprises join hands to support business households
According to Ms. Mai Thi Nghia Le - Head of the Department of Personal Tax, Business Households and Other Taxes (Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department): "The Tax Department is closely coordinating with solution providers to support digital transformation for business households. We are promoting propaganda, training, and classifying each group of households to provide appropriate guidance during this peak period."

Of the total of over 364 thousand business households that Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department is managing, there are nearly 346 thousand contracted households and more than 18,500 declared households.
Technology and financial businesses are also actively participating in support:
Mr. Ngo Trung Dung - Deputy Sales Director of the Southern region of KiotViet Company, said: "We divide the support groups into wards and communes to ensure that every household receives on-site guidance."
Mr. Pham Duc Thanh - Deputy Director of VNPT Ho Chi Minh City Corporate Customer Division, informed: "VNPT supports 6 months of free software, electronic invoices and digital signatures, and also 'holds hands and guides' each household".
Mr. Nguyen Tan Dai - Director of the Southern branch of Softdreams Company, affirmed: "We will give you detailed instructions from usage to conversion and after-sales service".
364,000 business households enter an important transition period
Currently , Ho Chi Minh City Tax is managing more than 364,000 business households , of which nearly 346,000 are paying lump-sum tax and more than 18,500 have declared . With such a large number, the "60-day peak conversion" plan is considered an industry-wide effort to ensure that no business household is left behind.
