7 tourists suspected of food poisoning discharged from hospital

DNO - On the afternoon of June 26, the City Food Safety Management Board announced that 7 tourists suspected of food poisoning who were treated at Hospital 199 ( Ministry of Public Security ) have been discharged.

Previously, at 10:30 a.m. on June 26, the Food Poisoning Investigation and Handling Team of the City Food Safety Management Board received information from Hospital 199 about 7 suspected cases of food poisoning who were members of a tourist group from Hanoi (including 36 people) led by Ms. Dao Thi May.

Upon receiving the information, the food poisoning investigation and handling team of the City Food Safety Management Board quickly approached the patient and conducted an investigation to determine the cause of the incident. Through the initial investigation, 7 people showed symptoms of abdominal cramps around the navel, vomiting and frequent bowel movements.

According to Ms. Dao Thi May, the group arrived in Da Nang at 9:00 a.m. on June 25 and stayed at a hotel in Son Tra district. At noon and evening on June 25, 36 people in the group split into many groups to eat freely at different locations and do not remember the addresses or the dishes they ate.

According to information provided by the group leader, 7 people came to Hospital 199 for examination and did not eat together at the same dining location.

Through the above incident, the City Food Safety Management Board will continue to work with the People's Committees of districts to strengthen communication and training on food safety for food service establishments according to their management levels. At the same time, step up inspection, examination, supervision and strict handling of establishments that violate the law to ensure security and food safety for people and tourists in the city in the coming time.
