(LĐ online) - On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), on the morning of May 5, the Faculty of Political Theory - Dalat University in collaboration with the Faculty of Marxism - Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought and the Faculty of Party Work, Political Work of the Army Academy organized the scientific conference "70 years of Dien Bien Phu Victory - Tradition and significance of educating revolutionary ideals for students today".

The workshop was attended by scientists and research experts from the Army Academy, Army Officer School 2, Dong Nai University of Technology, Lam Dong Provincial Political School, and a large number of cadres, lecturers, graduate students and students of Dalat University.

In his opening speech at the workshop, Dr. Mai Minh Nhat - Vice Rector of Dalat University affirmed: The Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954 is an epic written with the mettle, will, intelligence and strength of the Vietnamese people in the Ho Chi Minh era; demonstrating the spirit of determination to fight and win of our army and people for the cause of national liberation, independence and freedom. 70 years have passed, the historical lessons and significance of the Dien Bien Phu Victory still retain their value and have an epochal significance.

The workshop was organized to create conditions and an environment for cadres, lecturers and scientists to exchange and discuss academic knowledge, raise awareness of military art and the tradition of heroic struggle; improve the ability to identify and fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints that distort the just struggle and the heroic revolutionary tradition of the Communist Party and the Vietnamese People. Thereby, contributing to training and educating revolutionary ideals for cadres, party members, lecturers, trainees and students.

In her opening speech, Dr. Dinh Thi Hoang Phuong - Head of the Department of Political Theory, Dalat University, said: The workshop was planned and implemented from August 2023 and received the attention and participation of many authors and groups of authors from research institutes and training institutions nationwide.
After going through a 3-level review and approval process, the proceedings were approved for publication by the People's Public Security Publishing House with an international standard number (ISBN).

The proceedings include 51 papers demonstrating the meticulous and dedicated research of the authors and groups of authors. From these studies, issues related to the Dien Bien Phu Victory - Tradition and the significance of educating revolutionary ideals for students today have been exploited, analyzed, evaluated and viewed from many different perspectives.
Many issues have been clarified, focusing mainly on the following topics: Historical events - theory and practice of the Dien Bien Phu campaign and victory; lessons learned in theory and practice in the Dien Bien Phu campaign and their application in the cause of building and defending the Vietnamese Fatherland today; inheriting, acquiring and promoting the spiritual values of the Dien Bien Phu campaign and applying lessons learned from the historic Dien Bien Phu victory in studying, working, training the qualities and mettle of the young generation to contribute to the building and development of organizations, agencies, units, and localities...
