AFC Champions League 2: Nam Dinh determined to play fair in match against Osaka

Despite the poor personnel, Nam Dinh is determined to play fairly with the strong representative from Japan.

Before the match between Nam Dinh club and Gamba Osaka (Japan) in the AFC Champions League 2 which will take place tonight (November 5) at Thien Truong stadium. Coaches and players of both teams expressed their determination to get points.

Speaking at the press conference, coach Andre Lima of Nam Dinh Club said that this will be a challenging match as the opponent from Japan is a strong team and a strong candidate for the ticket to the next round in the group. However, Nam Dinh has prepared carefully throughout the past week and is ready for the best performance.

“We know Gamba Osaka is a strong team, but Nam Dinh have trained hard and enthusiastically and will try their best to have a good match. Although the team has had difficulties in terms of personnel due to injuries and illness in the past, in the AFC Champions League, we can use more foreign players. I believe the team will have a stable force and take advantage of home field advantage to aim for positive results” - Coach Andre Lima shared.

Captain Lucas also showed his determination: “When we go out on the field, the goal is always to win. Playing at home is an advantage, we will try our best to get three points. Nam Dinh is currently going through a difficult period, but the whole team is always united, training hard and determined to overcome it.”

In the first leg, Nam Dinh lost 1-3 away to Gamba Osaka. However, coach Andre Lima affirmed that the team has learned many lessons and made necessary adjustments to aim for a better performance in the second leg.

On the away team side, Gamba Osaka coach Daniel Poyatos highly appreciated the home team Nam Dinh: “We understand that we will have to face an experienced team. In the first leg, despite winning, Nam Dinh still showed danger when they have the ball. Gamba Osaka is a team with tradition and we always aim to win in every match.”

Gamba Osaka player Kanji Okunuki said the whole team is ready: “This is an important match, I will play 100% of my ability. The weather and conditions in Vietnam are different, but we are adapting well and will try to show our best performance.”
