The Egyptian military has dispatched the Mistral aircraft carrier to the Libyan coast to provide emergency relief to victims affected by severe flooding caused by Storm Daniel.

According to Daily News, the Mistral aircraft carrier is equipped with a medical station, which will act as a field hospital. The deployment of the Mistral aircraft carrier was carried out under the direction of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to continue humanitarian assistance and relief activities for flood victims in Libya.

Earlier, an Egyptian naval ship also arrived at the Libyan coastal city of Derna to help recover bodies of flood victims at sea. Derna and other areas in eastern Libya were among the areas hardest hit by the storm.
