On September 17, during the journey from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc, the crew of the Superdong 7 and Thriving 16 rescued four fishermen whose boat had sunk and drifted for many hours at sea.

The victims were handed over to Phu Quoc Border Guard for support and health care.

Mr. Vu Xuan Thuy, captain of the Superdong 7 ship, informed that at about 9:30 a.m. the same day, when arriving at the sea area about 5 nautical miles southwest of Hon Nghe Island, the ship received information from the captain of the Thriving 16 ship reporting that fishermen were in distress and needed assistance. The Superdong 7 ship discovered two fishermen drifting at sea.

At the time the two fishermen were discovered, the weather had turned bad, with strong winds and heavy rain. After about 15 minutes of approaching, the Superdong 7 crew rescued Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Nhat (43 years old) and her son Cao Van Sang (18 years old), both residing in An Giang province.

When brought aboard the ship, both mother and child were in poor health due to drifting at sea for a long time in a state of hunger and cold. They were given heating, medical care and snacks before being handed over to Bai Vong Border Guard Station (Phu Quoc) when the ship docked.

At the same time, the Thriving 16 ship captained by Mr. Le Van Nhien rescued Mr. Cao Van Teo (48 years old, Mrs. Nhat's husband) and Mr. Nguyen Vu Hiep (42 years old, living in An Giang); and handed them over to the Border Guard force in Phu Quoc for support.

According to initial information, the four fishermen were on the same boat KG92503TS and the boat sank due to bad weather. All four had been drifting at sea for several hours. The health of the fishermen is now stable./.
