An Giang allocates over 88 billion VND to invest in ethnic minority areas

On the afternoon of August 6, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of An Giang province held a conference to deploy the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas in 2025. The People's Committee of An Giang province has decided to allocate over 88 billion VND in public funds to implement the program in 2025.

At the conference, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of An Giang province deployed Decision No. 920/QD-TTg, dated May 14, 2025 of the Prime Minister, adjusting a number of contents of the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period, Phase I: From 2021-2025.

In 2025, the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas will continue to invest in infrastructure with a total public capital of over 88 billion VND.

For projects and work contents being implemented before the effective date of this Decision, they shall continue to be implemented in accordance with the plan, list, and decision approved by competent authorities.

In case of changes in the objectives, tasks and capital plans assigned to implement the program after adjustment, the program management agencies shall review, propose and send documents to the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions for synthesis and reporting to competent authorities for consideration and adjustment according to current regulations.

The implementation of the adjusted program in localities after the rearrangement and reorganization of administrative units at all levels and the construction of a 2-level local government organization model shall comply with regulations and instructions of competent authorities.

From the capital of the National Target Program on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, many social security activities in ethnic minority areas have been implemented.

An Giang Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 432/QD-UBND, dated August 4, 2025, on the allocation of public funds to implement the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas in 2025. The total public funds allocated are over VND 88 billion, of which the central budget is over VND 76.53 billion and the provincial budget is 11.48 billion.

An Giang Provincial People's Committee also issued Decision No. 960/QD-UBND, dated June 11, 2025, on the detailed allocation of public funding in 2025 to implement the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period, Phase I: From 2021-2025. The total implementation cost is 42.22 billion VND, of which the central budget is over 38.36 billion VND and the local budget is over 3.8 billion VND.
