An Giang will commence construction and open to traffic a key project to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party.

On December 19th, the Government will hold groundbreaking ceremonies, inauguration ceremonies, and technical opening ceremonies for projects and works to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The ceremony will be held simultaneously nationwide. A total of 234 projects across 34 provinces and cities are eligible for commencement, inauguration, and technical opening; of which, 148 projects will commence construction, and 86 projects will be inaugurated and technically opened to traffic. There are 38 projects from ministries and agencies; 39 projects from corporations and general companies; and 157 projects from local authorities.

The total investment for 234 projects is over 3.4 million billion VND (state capital in 96 projects is over 627,000 billion VND, accounting for 18% of the total, and 138 projects from other sources of capital are over 2.79 million billion VND, accounting for 82% of the total).

The ceremony was held in a hybrid online and in-person format, with 79 connection points (12 in-person connection points, 67 online video connection points), symbolizing the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 - December 19, 2025).

The central event was the groundbreaking ceremony for the Olympic Sports Urban Area construction project in Thuong Phuc commune, with the Hanoi People's Committee as the managing agency.

Twelve main connection points are located in the provinces and cities of Lao Cai, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, Hanoi , Hue, Quang Ngai, Lam Dong, An Giang, Can Tho, Dong Nai, and Ho Chi Minh City.

In An Giang province alone, the main project will commence in Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, specifically the first phase of the urban tram line in Phu Quoc, invested by Sun Group, along with three other projects: Duong Dong 2 reservoir; Cua Can resettlement area; and Ham Ninh resettlement area.

In addition, An Giang province also held a technical opening ceremony for phase 1 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway construction project at the intersection of provincial road 941 (km28+591) in Vinh An commune; and a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to build a shelter system to preserve archaeological pits at the Oc Eo - Ba The historical site in Oc Eo commune.
